About Emily
Having moved from Golden, Colorado when I was fourteen to New York, I learned at an early age to take on new situations. I have loved history since my AP European History class in high school. But when I learned about the field of Cultural Anthropology, I was set on my future professional goals. I enrolled at the Clarkson School when I was sixteen and began my education under the Liberal Studies major. It took a mere two days for me to change my intended degree after going to the class "History of Social Documentation".
Currently, I am looking for socially conscious, active work in Visual Anthropology and Social Documentation. I am experienced in both historically and communication-driven work with non-profits, museums, and educational organizations. My degree trained me to direct film, edit video, design websites, do graphic design, and provide written and spoken communication for the companies I worked with during school. I also have a passion for ethnography and history that helped me provide content for the media I produced. I look forward to pursuing both video work in the field and continuing my education in graduate school. While I have deferred my acceptance into the Master's in Visual Anthropology program at the University of Southern California, I plan to spend the next year building a strong portfolio. As a college graduate at 21, I am excited for a hard-working and fulfilling future.
